Local Black Currants
Kastbergs Chocolate Black Currant Ice Cream is a cream-based ice cream. As with all our cream ice creams, we use fresh milk and cream from a local dairy, mixed to a fat content of 8%. Moreover, this ice cream is built in 3 layers: each layer consists of a scoop of cream ice cream, a spoonful of our in-house developed Kastbergs Dark Chocolate, melted, and a stripe of our in-house developed black currant jam, all gently mixed together to ensure both delicious ingredients are evenly distributed, repeated three times.
The recipe for our black currant jam is also developed in-house. It contains a high berry content of the Ben Tron variety, which is locally harvested in Kjellerup, Mid Jutland, before being turned into delicious jam at Give Confectionery.
