Since the founding of Kastbergs Gourmet Ice Cream, Joachim Kastberg has worked closely with suppliers to source the finest ingredients. It is these ingredients, and the care with which they are handled, that create the exceptional flavors in our icecream, sorbet, and softice.

Fresh Milk from local farmers
Dark Chocolate developed in house
Joachim Kastberg, in collaboration with Callebaut’s development team in Paris, has created Kastbergs Dark Chocolate. With a cocoa content of 72.7%, its flavor profile is deep, slightly tangy, and features notes of fresh berries. This chocolate is specifically designed to freeze perfectly with ice cream, ensuring the ideal snap. A delicious, custom-developed ingredient.

Danish Strawberries from a very special island
We use plenty of Danish strawberries from Samsø in our ice cream and sorbet. These strawberries are of a unique variety, known for their intense flavor and vibrant color. Grown under the island’s special climatic conditions, these strawberries are truly exceptional.

Danish Blackcurrants
We believe in using Danish fruits and berries whenever possible. Locally grown produce offers unparalleled quality, traceability, and, importantly, shorter transportation distances. Why transport ingredients farther than necessary?
For this reason, we source our blackcurrants for our blackcurrant sorbet from a small town, located just 45 km from our production facility in Denmark.
