Asian character

The flavour

Matcha is a very distinctive flavour in Japanese cuisine. The fine bitterness, the natural umami and the deep green colour give a flavour profile that is both calm and intense at the same time. In our Matcha Ice Cream, the aroma of the tea is balanced by a soft, creamy base, so the flavour stays pure and clear without becoming heavy. The result is an ice cream with a distinctly Japanese expression.

Usage

Matcha Ice Cream gives desserts a modern, Asian touch and works both as the main flavour and as a contrast to other elements. It is particularly well suited in combination with:

– Yuzu – adds a clear citrus note that lifts the depth of the matcha

– Sesame (black or toasted) – adds nutty warmth and texture

– White chocolate – creates a soft, sweet contrast

– Roasted nuts – especially almonds and cashews

– Low-sweetness caramel – e.g. miso caramel or salted caramel

Matcha Ice Cream also works well in desserts with Japanese elements such as mochi, pancakes (dorayaki) or as a green, aromatic element in a plated dish.
